Freedom Bird

“The freedom that one has in reality does not come from liberation from bondage. It is the freedom that has never known bondage and so can hardly be called freedom. It feels like freedom to the one who believed he or she was bound but in fact it was there all the time and has only been recognized. The realized person says” I am always free and you are always free also.” This freedom does not refer to freedom of action but to a freedom that has never performed any action and so is not constrained to receive the fruits of those actions. This freedom of the Self is like the bird that can fly unhindered above the crawling and walking creatures of the earth.” (by Sri Ranjit Maharaj, from “You Are He”)

The Bird is the symbol of Awakening and the realization to spread one’s wings and fly to Freedom, out of the Illusion of the Phenomenal plane world of the Ego.

In Hinduism the bird is the symbol of ones Soul & spiritual freedom, to higher levels of insights and blissful states of consciousness.

Excerpts from; “ To a Skylark” by Percy Bysshe Shelly

“Hail to thee, blithe Spirit! Bird thou never wert, That from Heaven, or near it, Pourest thy full heart In profuse strains of unpremeditated art. Higher still and higher From the earth thou springest Like a cloud of fire; The deep blue thou wingest, And singing still dost soar, and soaring ever singest.

Teach us Sprite or Bird, What sweet thoughts are thine: I have never heard Praise of love or wine

The panted forth a flood of rapture so divine.

Waking or asleep, Thou of death must deem Things more true and deep Than we mortals dream, Or how could thy notes flow in such a crystal stream? We look before and after, And pine for what is not Our sincerest laughter With some pain is fraught; Our sweetest songs are those that tell the saddest thought.

Teach me half the gladness That thy brain must know, Such harmonious madness From my lips would flow The world should listen then, as I am listening now.

The Great Mother is often depicted in art and ancient recordings as a bird. She is the Universal giver and taker of all Life; she predates God by tens of thousands of years.

She is Cosmic, Sacred and Timeless and gives life to animals and men. Her abilities are Supernatural.

As the triple Goddess she exists as the Maiden, the Mother and finally the Crone, which stands for Crown.

Her Throne is a mountain of Mystery. Her ways and cycles are based are Lunar, not solar...

Her ancient all female communities were harmonious and peaceful. She is sexuality in the most natural way, she is socially and politically aware and active in the management of the community’s safety and sustainability. Husbands were not needed, instead men were recognized and respected for their physical strength, a wise partnership with men was necessary for construction, crafts and trading. It was good business. The Goddess is an adept at Earth management of the highest and most sacred order. The children were nurtured and kept by the women until a time of release and readiness to go and join the men in supporting the community, by then the masculine energy would have been sublimated and shaped to be in balance with its innate feminine nature and in knowledge and respect of the Earth.

Goddess run egalitarian communities were vibrant, they thrived successfully until the patriarchal invasions of Indo-European tribes from the Russian steppes invaded and destroyed them along with its many art forms and sacred spiritual practices. The earth world has been in a downward spiral of aggressive domination, devastation and greedfilled exploitation ever since.

“Let my worship be within the heart that rejoices, for behold all acts of love and pleasure are my ritual, therefore let there be beauty, strength, power and compassion, honor and humility, mirth and reverence within you. (Valiente 1989}

So sayeth the Great Mother of us all.
