The Goddess Bhavani

In Hinduism, Bhavani means “Giver of Life” she personifies the power of nature she is the source of Creative Energy. As a mother she provides for her devotees and plays the role of dispensing justice and death to the enemies of God called “Asuras”, who are the enemies of God. She has eight arms and sits upon a lion or a tiger, she is adept with her weapons of the bow and arrow, the sword, mace, discus and the conch shell. According to the Siva Purana she is the Supreme Goddess and consort of Sadasiva who is the Supreme Absolute Being. She embodies the female principle and energies of the Divine. Bhavani is the Goddess of Power, the Goddess of justice, the Goddess of Motherhood and the Goddess of Emotions.
